English Popular Art has never been more in vogue as a new generation of artists and illustrators return to reinterpret Englishness in the 21st Century.

A half century ago Barbara Jones curated the Black Eyes and Lemonade exhibition at the Whitechapel Galley currently reprised. Try and catch it if you can, small but perfectly formed and then stroll down Brick Lane to absorb how the East End continues to reinvent itself.
